Back to school today and a new challenge...

Today was the first day of school for my 11th grader, 7th grader and 2nd grader.
Here are the two younger ones... Hunter is just thrilled to be here and Dakota Bob with his "cheesy" fake grin...:)

Dakota wasn't as ready for it as Hunter was, but he loves his teacher and I'm sure he'll be fine.

I'm not sure what kind of look he's giving me here!

This is what Mrs. Estes had for all of her students when they got there this morning (she is the little one's teacher)It was a brown bag with all these contents in it! How cute is that??

There is a new challege up over at Sisterhood of Scrap
This is my layout for this one... it is mom and daddy's house. He built it in '79 or '80, I believe. He is gone, but it is not. It is really a house that love built!!

I love all things byDonna Salazar I made this layout by scraplifting a few of her ideas from 2 layouts she's had up on her blog. I love the denim she uses and so I tried it and I LOVE it! She uses large dictionary flowers on her pages, I used the Marvy Uchida Giga Scalloped edge punch. It punches 3 inches across!! I also painted on this layout and ripped all the edges of the papers. The paper is some really old stuff from Chatterbox. The fourishes were 1 cut from my Cricut cartridge: Storybook. I cut it all apart and even used the "leftovers" as part of the page too! THANK YOU PROVO FOR OUR CRICUT ABILITIES!!
Some details...

Hope all you out in blogland have a wonderful day!!

THE PERFECT PIE!!!!

Would you like to have a Beautiful gourmet pie sitting on your kitchen cabinet? One that you didn't have to bake, but would look like it just came out of the oven? One that would make you gain 5 pounds just by smelling it?? Well, you can!! Look at this...

My sister makes these and they are for sale in HER ETSY SHOP right now! I've got one of these and even after having it for awhile now it is still just as pretty as it was when she gave it to me. She puts glitter on them and it looks like sugar glistening on top! They even smell real... do doubt you could definately pass this off as the real thing. These would make great gifts since fall is coming and that starts the "baking season"!!
She is so good at everything she does!! I'm jealous of her :) -in a good way. She says she may have some other things for sale soon. I know she paints BEAUTIFUL pictures and sews, and takes great photos! I LOVE MY SISTER!! Don't know what I'd do with out her!! Please take a minute and stroll on over to her shop.

Wow! You know what??? this makes me 3 - count them- 3 posts in one day!!! I guess I've broken my own record!!

DON'T FORGET... TUNE IN TOMORROW TO FIND OUT MY GOOD NEWS! WELL, AT LEAST IT IS A FEATHER IN MY CAP AND I'M A HAPPY LADY BECAUSE OF IT!! :)
Have a good night!

Sisterhood 23 of the Blogging Stampers

2 Posts in the same day??? Who am I again?? The one who can usually not even do a post everyday??

I need to tell my new bloggy stamping friends a bit about myself (you can listen in too) :)
I'm 36, mom to 3 handsome boys, married with a 23 yr. old step-son still living at home, work full time as a cashier at our local groc. store. I am a Close To My Heart consultant and LOVE crafting! Scrapbooking, card making, altering, you name it- I like it!! As long as it involves paper, glue or scissors I'm there! I've been scrapbooking for about 10 years now. I have not been published but wish it to happen someday!! A quote I found the other day applies to this...THE SECRET TO BECOMING WHO YOU WISH TO BE BEGINS WITH BELIEVING YOU CAN BECOME WHO YOU WISH TO BE. So I believe that someday I'll be Lisa that is published in a scrapbooking magazine!! I am excited to be a part of The Sisterhood
Looking forward to getting to know all the other "sisters"!

GOOOOOD Saturday Morning!!!

Good Morning!! It is a beeee-u-tiful day!

I have news that I just can't hold back but I have to! I'm so excited! I can't post about it until first thing in the morning, but I'll be sure to let you know what it is!!!! Let's just say I made a layout that I absolutely LOVE... it is Donna Salazar style!! It is messy and fun and got me to do things I usually don't do on a page! And I LOVE it!! I'll post it tomorrow morning.

I haven't been updating like I used to I know. Been busy... between C-R-A-Z-Y stuff here at home, getting the kids ready for Monday and "BACK TO SCHOOL", and the layout and other stuff, I've been BUSY. This coming week is the last one for me off at home before going back to work. oh, boy.

I was going through some of my old pages and came across this one. I thought I'd share it. Our lss has something called a Scrapbook Extravaganza every year. This one was Nov. of 2006... I got married on that Friday and we got up and drove to Little Rock the next day. So I got to scrapbook on my honeymoon!! The pict. is of my and Debbie Haas. She co-authored Chicken Soup for the Scrapbookers Soul. She is there every year and teaches a class. One of the cutest gals you'll ever meet! This is the second year they are having it in Hot Springs. You can go HERE to get more info. about this event. It expensive, but worth the money! EVERY PENNY!!

This is another one I've done this summer. I took the before picture on the morning of my oral surgery. And the after was just a few days after getting my "new smile" (I hate to say "false teeth"!!!)

Off to do some more scrappin'
Have a great day!

Long time no blog!

It has been exactly 10 days since my last post. Things have been c-r-a-z-y here! Won't go in to all the details.

The weather is really nice here! Cool and it has rained!! We are lovin' it.
We went to the Watermelon Festival last Sat.but I don't have any pictures. I also went to my Close To My Heart unit meeting and missed the parade on that Sat. morning, but it was worth it! We had so much fun!! I learned a lot, won some great door prizes, had great food and made new friends! This one gal in particular... Tracy. Her blog addy is http://joyinliving.blogspot.com ((YEP you STILL gotta cut and paste... I STILL don't know how to get this thing to insert the hyperlink for a web addy!!)) She's a Christian, scrapbooker, and great gal! They were all sweeties up there and they LOVE what they do! I'm going to be adding their blogs in the righthand column under CTMH SISTERS... you need to go check out their blogs!

I go back to on the 25th, so my blogging may slow down considerably. I dread it...after being off for 3 months I DON'T want to go back :( I'd rather stay home with my bloggy friends-but that doesn't pay like the grocery store does-unfortunately!! I don't know, maybe going back will be OK... I'll get to see everybody again. I kind of miss the "grandmas and grandpas" that would come through my line. I see them and family after a while, some of them I see more than I see my own family members!!

My little one has come in once already asking for toast and butter so I guess I need to go feed the little guy! Oh, there he is again! I better go!! :)

I'll try to get back in the scrappin' swing of things and post more of that!!
Happy scrappin'

Hello!

I just wanted to say Hey and good night.
I really haven't had lots to say lately.

I did finish another layout for the Sisterhood of Scrap blog. I think I like this one. I'll post it tomorrow sometime...

Hmmmm.... I don't really have a lot to say tonight...I found a dead bird in my little backyard fish pond today. I don't know what happened to the guy! Maybe he was getting a drink from the little waterfall and fell in?? Maybe the heat got him! It has been SO HOT here! I've lost 2 of the 6 goldfish that we put in the pond. I cleaned up the pump today and drained about 1/2 of the water to put in fresh water for the rest of the "goldies". I treated the water and filled it up and the little guys just swam all around. I love to sit out there and watch them! I've put my hummingbird feeder out back too and the little hummers come and eat - and fight over the food! They are so funny to watch!

I have lost 5 pounds! I cut back to 1 can of Sprite a day and it has made that much of a difference!! I also haven't been eating quite as much lately either. I still can't eat like I could before my dental surgery. I can't chew with my new ones STILL YET!! I hate those things... for anyone out there listening (reading) TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH AND KEEP THEM FOR EVER!!! NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER THINK THAT GETTING THE "FAKE ONES" WILL BE BETTER..... I may have a prettier smile and healthy gums, but I wish SO BAD that I had taken care of my teeth and still had them!!!!! SO BAD!! I want to eat chips, and bite into a sandwich, or eat popcorn like I used to! I'll get off my soapbox and hush now, sorry!!

Well, I think I'll go to bed since I don't have too much to say.
Good night and Happy Scrappin'

Pictures of what's goin' on !

This is pretty much a "picture post"!
I have been busy making things along with other stuff and wanted to share a little bit with you :)
This is a page I made for a challenge on Sisterhood of Scrap blog. I'm not sure I like it, because it seems like all the pages I do are so plain and "stiff". I'm too much of a perfectionist and have to have everything even. But the challege was to use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

These are so cute and easy to make. I AM NOT TRYING TO SWIPE SOMEONE ELSE'S IDEA... don't like people who do that! I was blog surfing and found how to make them. They are made from the 2X2 post it note pads.

This one is a 3X3 post it and I made covers from really thick chipboard and covered them with patterned papers. I bound it with my Bind It All. I LOVE that little thing! This was my first little book I've made with it.

I also found this idea out in blogland! This is a cute little card and it shuts with the ribbon tied on the bottom! The scalloped punch used at the top makes it look like a bite was taken out of the "popsicle". I LOVED these, so I HAD to try them too!!

I made this little bucket of flowers for my class decoration. I made it using my trusty little Cricut! I think it is really purdy!!

This is a picture I took in my flower bed this morning. It turned out pretty good. Kinda proud of these two.

This one is in the front flower bed. I had a pretty little visitor!!

I live in a little bitty town called Cave City. We are known for our "WORLD FAMOUS" watermelons (so they say... any of y'all out in blog land ever heard of them???) My pawpaw used to grow them when he was able and so did my dad. Pawpaw would sell them out in front of his house. I barely remember it, but I remember smelling of the money in the money box he had! Yep my weirdness started at an early age!! :)
But.... this is my 2 younger ones eating some yummy melon. YES it was SOOOO GOOOD!!! Don't they just look so thrilled? This was a "Hey boys look at me" moment!!

I even had to have some!!

And look how juicy it was!! And sooo sweet! AND FOR MY SISTER... YOU'RE MISSIN' OUT!! YOU NEED TO COME HOME AND GET SOME!!!

WOW! I think this is the longest blog entry ever! Thanks if you've stayed with me!!
I think I'm going to get off the computer and play with my Cricut. I got the two newest cartridges today!! Graphically Speaking and Storybook... can't wait to go play with them. I have the Expression so I'm hoping to make some full size page elements. I LOVE these cartridges!! They are the best they've come up with yet!! IF YOU BUY THEM YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!!! THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
I'll post some pictures of what I make a little later on.

Have a good night and Happy Scrappin'

Made some changes....

As you can see I've been busy makin' some HAPPY changes around here. Thanks to AMBER I've had one of my cutest blogs. Thanks for the help girl!! She got me on my scrappity bloggin' way. I found Allie Brown's blog and she has free blogs templates and instructions to help (IF I CAN DO IT... ANYONE CAN!!)I'm so glad she is out there to help the bloggity challenged ones like myself! You should go check out her site! It is LOADED with so many beautiful layouts for your blog- and they are FREE!!! ( just can't get over that... nothing this good is usually found for free!!)

I even updated all the links on the side. Well, I know all but 2 were working. I'll have to get the other 2 "debugged" tomorrow. You can click on the ETSY blinkie and you will go to my etsy shop! HOW COOL IS THAT!! I learned how to do that over at Allie's blog as well.

I found out today that our baby girl Keeli Jo is still improving. Tiffany will soon be getting to hold her ( without Keeli Jo having to be on a pillow). I know she is looking forward to that! Nearly 2 months after she was born and just now getting to hold her...I know she'll be a happy girl -they both will :)

It is really late so I guess I better shut this thing down and let it, and myself, get some much needed rest!
Good night and Happy Scrappin'

It's been awhile...

Well, guess I've been MIA. Just been quiet lately. I've not felt very good lately either. Just tired, really tired. I've been doing a few things here and there...just trying some new things. I've been "scraplifting" some things and will show and tell when I get some more finished. Found the cutest little easily made things. Can't wait to show you!! It IS NOT my idea and I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to take credit for them!! They were just too cute not to make my own!!

I will have more later... I'm going to go and play with some more of my scrap stuff and maybe finish up a challenge or two I've found. Hmmmm... to actually use the stuff I have for SCRAPBOOK PAGES??? Imagine that!!

I have to leave you with something pretty. I just love these big beauties!!

Good Monday Mornin' to ya!!

We had a GREAT weekend!! My class went well and Tiffany's benefit for Keeli Jo went VERY well!!

They had an auction with items that were donated and I was bidding on a George Foreman Grill and little did I know that my brother was up behind me-bidding against me! Needless to say HE WON IT :( I did get some good candles though. They raised somewhere around $3500 for the family!!!

This is Tiff and me, she was very appreciative of the money I gave her from the auction. SHE SAID TO TELL EVERYBODY THANK YOU!!!!

This is McKinley, Keeli Jo's big sister. Ain't she a sweetheart??

Here is a picture of a picture...Keeli Jo on July 15. She weighs 2 pounds 13 ounces now!!! She is growing and getting stronger everyday! Like I keep saying- prayers do get answered!!! Tiffany said she does have lung problems and will probably be on oxygen even when she comes home. They just don't know for how long she'll need it. They say it just depends on her.

Also been taking some pictures of the flowers I have blooming- Hibiscus... they only bloom once then fall off! I didn't know that! So I have to take the pictures to enjoy them!!
This little guy is enjoying it too!!

Will post more pictures of them later. Right now I'm off to town to try to get a haircut and gotta pay those bills!!

This is what I was going to show the other day...

I looked out the window (my view when I'm at my computer) and this is what I saw... it was so funny (although I hope he doesn't keep this behavior up!- I can't let it go on, you know?)
Keep in mind I took these through the window so the quality is not real good...but you definately get the picture.

Kinda Cute, HU?

This was just dang hilarious!!

Needless to say he did get run off by the normal creatures that eat here!! I missed the acutual event, but I saw the bird fly down and then saw the squirrel bolt down from his perch and jump up in to the trees-then Mr. Bird went back to his home to eat again!

This is my other visitor I have nearly every day-he is my little sweetheart!(Look close at the bottom of the post and you'll see him in the grass) I would love to pet him! Think I'm going to give him the lettuce in the bottom of the fridge-It needs to go anyways and I'm SURE he'd appreciate it too!

I LOVE country life!! I'll post more pictures later of my little pond... we put some greenery around it yesterday and I put in some more pea gravel today. It is my favorite place now! I used to HATE our desolate back yard, but now... I just LOVE it!!

I've got to get ready for my class on Saturday, so my posting may be really slow until Sunday. I've got to create a calendar for one piece of my kit and I'm not sure what I'm going to do for it. If anyone has a calendar template out there (a blank one...no numbers, days, or months)I could sure use it - or a link to make one somewhere on here... I've tried to find them before, but didn't have much luck for what I wanted. I need it to be about 4"X5".

Oh, yeah -AN UPDATE!! The ebay auction ended at $41.00 I will be adding to this total to give Tiffany $50.00. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. Every little bit helps! Oh and the baby is now up to 2 pounds 6 ounces and is taking her milk. She is getting better with each day! Prayer really does work!!

12 Hours to end of auction...

We only have 12 more hours to go in the auction for Keeli Jo.

It is up to $41.00 now.----do I hear $45????

I've had over 300 viewers and I'm just thankful for the traffic on there. At least they are popping by to see :) Oh, and with 22 watchers, maybe someone will get the bidding up at the end. That is the way I've seen something go before...last minute bidders get vicious sometimes. In this case that would be good, very good :D

I have a class this Saturday and I've got to get busy kitting for it. If I have any extra I may list one in my etsy shop on Monday. I'll try to give a sneak peek at it sometime today.

Hoping all is well with everyone out there in blog land today!!

I HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!

I have been tagged! My friend Camille tagged me... I have to give 8 facts about me...
What do I know about me, 8 things??

1. I used to HATE anything to do with scrapbooking. I wouldn't even look at the stuff in Hobby Lobby - thought it was all silly!

2. I LOVE John Wayne movies... If I could meet one celebrity, it would have been him (when he was alive)...

3. I don't like to-and can't-watch scary movies! I will have nightmares for a week! I tell everyone that asks about it "I'm not old enough to watch them!"-code words for I'M JUST A BIG CHICKEN/SCAREDY CAT!!

4. I would like to go back to college and finish my bachelor's degree in Family Psychology ( I only lack a year and a half to get it!!) or go get my 2 year degree in business- only lack 3 hours to get that one :)!!

5. I am afraid of the dark. I panic when the power goes out... literally, panic in the dark!!

6. My face is asymetrical due to a fall when I was 3 or 4. I hit my upper cheekbone (right below my right eye) I jumped for the bed and missed, hit the bed railing instead! I DO REMEMBER IT!! I think it must have affected the nerves, because that side of my face is NOT like the other! I have a crooked smile- like that side of my face is stiffer than the other side.

7. I cut my own hair. Not everytime, but sometimes. I'd like to learn how to do it professionally and open a hair salon!

8. I hate worms! I like to work outside and in the dirt, but if I find a worm it is GROSS OUT TIME!! YUCK-OOO!!!

OK, there you have 8 odd and truthful facts about me.
Now who can I tag??
Mandy B., Shelley, Stephanie A., Glynda, Donna, Leah, Johanna, Paulette
Come play along and tell us a little about U :)

THE RULES
1) each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2) people who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
3) at the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4) don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Bye Y'all!!!
Happy Scrappin'

WILL POST MORE LATER WITH PICTURES OF MY CRITTER STEALING FROM THE BIRDFEEDER- YOU GOTTA SEE THIS ONE!!!

Auction is going great!!!

The auction has 5 bids now!! GRRRREEEAAAT!! I'm so happy to see it going up!

Things have been pretty good at my house today! I got in the pool-alone... mom had the boys. I enjoyed about 30 minutes until I heard it... THUNDER!! It has rained here for the last 3-4 days now! I mean, I'm not complaining because it is usually dry this time of year! I also don't have to water all the plants if it rains that is an added bonus! We have a TON to water too!! It is all worth it to see them growing and beautiful though.

Here is a funny for you... I got this from our local newspaper... it is TOO funny and boy is it ever right on the money!!!

Will try and post more tomorrow...
Happy Scrappin' from a sleep-head :)

I've just listed the auction for Keeli Jo!! 100% of the proceeds will go to her mom (my niece) for medical bills and gas for her to get to the hopital to see the little one. I had to list it the way I did because EBAY wouldn't let me list with any kind of notation of it being a donation.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220256024079
Please go take a look and bid with confidence... oh and I'm giving FREE SHIPPING!!

I just want to say a special Thanks to my contributors Leah Fung and Amber Halverson!! Thanks again girls!!
Wish us luck on the auction!!

Getting Ready for a BIG AUCTION ON EBAY!!!!

I have just finished my project for an ebay auction. This isn't just any ole auction, the proceeds will go to my niece on July 19th at the benefit they are having for her. This is to help her out since she had her little one so early. Money for gas and bills... it will all be put to good use. I have a layout and Amber over at http://threewishesinc.blogspot.com sent me an adorable layout for the auction. I also have in my hands a mini album, paper pad and a Baby Idea book all from Making Memories donated (and the book is signed) by LEAH FUNG... from Scrapbooks, etc. magazine and her blog is Leah's Desktop Dictionary http://www.leahfung.typepad.com She and Amber are just wonderful for donating for my auction. I also got an email this morning from Stephanie over at http://homegrownhospitality.typepad.com ... and YES she is the one with Homegrown Hospitality magazine!! She may be sending me something, I'm going to wait until Thursday to see if she gets it to me. I'm going to try to get the auction up Thursday night... so PLEASE GO CHECK IT OUT AND REMEMBER THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO MY NIECE...BUT... I called ebay and they will not let me list it with any notation of a dontation in my description, just know that this will be given to Tiffany and I will post pictures up on the blog of me giving her the check on the night of her benefit.

I DO HAVE AN UPDATE ON KEELI JO!! She weighs a whopping 2 POUNDS now!! We've had some rough days and a big scare last Wednesday night. They called Tiff down to the hospital, I'm assuming they thought the baby might not make it through the night. But she did and she has fought strong since then!! Prayers are being answered every day... and we do take the days one at a time and thank God for each one He gives.

What I've been doing....

Yesterday I worked in my scraproom all day. I'm working on a project for my niece... the one who has the preemie baby. I'm planning an auction on ebay and giving her the proceeds. The family is giving her a benefit cake/pie auction on July 19. I'll hopefully have lots to give her from my auction. I'm getting donations (so far) from Amber Halverson, and Leah Fung (THE Leah Fung from Scrapbooks, etc. magazine!!!!)and I'll have something on there as well. I am hoping to get it listed in a couple of days. I will post the link here so all can see the auction and bid... remember, the proceeds will go to a great cause... to help my niece and the expenses from going back and forth so far away to see little Keeli Jo in the hospital.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
What else I've been doing... SCRAPBOOKING!! I actually made a couple of pages FOR MY OWN SCRAPBOOK :)
Here is the mess I made... great things come from great messes!! Isn't it strange that we all have fairly large work spaces, but by the time we are done we have this tiny space that you can see the table underneath where we were working!!??

Here are my pages from the family reunion in June. I didn't get lots of pictures, but I do have a few...This is me and my cousin Charles. He is a great guy!! Next to my daddy he rates pretty high in my book!! My title should have been placed a little higher than where I put it. It bugs me where it is at. I will have to raise it somehow! These pages were made using all materials from Close To My Heart except for the old sheet music, paper flowers and the ribbons... they are some I had in my stash.

...and this old one was from the newspaper a long time ago. It has a glare on it from my flash, but it is a family reunion from 1937!!

LOOKIE!! LOOKIE!!

I FINALLY got to upload this video of my pond... please turn the music off and you can hear the running water...

Happy 4th of July!!!

Good morning!! Happy 4th of July! ***GOOD AFTERNOON... THIS HAS BEEN A DRAFT UNTIL NOW, OUR INTERNET HAS BEEN WIERD ALL DAY BECAUSE OF THE STORMS WE'VE HAD...*** We had some "natural" fireworks here last night! It came a pretty good little storm and rained quite a bit, so now, I DON'T have to water our YARD FULL of flowers! No, I'm not lazy, it just takes FOREVER to water them all. Here's my flower bed in the front yard... And this is what I've been working on this week!! I'm so proud of it, my little "secret garden".... I stacked up 3 rocks at the end of my bench to make a little table. My hubby moved the super big rocks for the fountain area and the bench and set in the pump and put in the shephard's hook...I did all the rest. Yep, I'm proud, not the bad, boasting kind- the WOW I can't believe I DIT THAT-proud :)

Michael's, JoAnn's, and Hobby Lobby!!!

MY FAVORITE THING BOUGHT TODAY!!!... I've been looking for this magazine and COULD NOT find it anywhere... Homegrown Hospitality's Stephanie does this mag. and I LOVE her stuff!! I've about to go dive in to it (in the tub... best place to read..hee hee!!)

I WENT SHOPPING TODAY!!
My first time EVER in a Michael's or a JoAnn's store! I was in scrapbook Heaven! I got LOTS of goodies, and spent WAYYYYY too much money, but WOW... that's a lot of stuff :) ....not bragging, just excited...I like to see when other people bring in a "haul" so I thought I'd just show mine.
I found this at JoAnn's ... is it JoAnn with an s or just JoAnn? anyways.. it was regularly $29.99 and I got it for $9.99!! I've wanted a big clipboard and this came with all this other stuff!

I also got this Heidi Grace stuff there too. I got the paper pad for 40% off! I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to use it all!!

This is the Wild Saffron line from K&Company... got it at Michael's. I used my 50% off coupon on the paper pad. I just didn't see anything BIG to use the coupon on, so I got this paper and LOVE IT!!

Found these ribbons at Michael's... the colors are so yummy you could just eat them :)

Got these to give to my class attendees for the class I'm teaching on July 19th. I may have a class kit to list on etsy. If I don't sell out in the class I'll list the extras. I have room for 10 and have 7 signed up so far. I wanted to give them all a little something extra. I try to do that for each class I have. Of course, they all love it :)

These are some other things I got... rubber stamp stitches, Prima flowers, some new small Cuttlebug embossing folders, and a die for my old class Sizzix machine. I like that old thing... you can put all kinds of things in it- felt to make your own felt flowers, chipboard, cut more than one piece of paper at a time... it is just a good old friend!

NEW FEATURE!! GROSS TO GREAT!!!

Well, I promised something SCRAPPY yesterday and failed to get it up. I do have something for you this morning though. I went YARD SALEING (HOW DO YOU SPELL THAT?) yesterday. This is an activity that I'm growing to LOVE!! I found two little cabinets for my scraproom and I'm giving them a makeover. So next weekend I plan on going again.

Karen over at the polka dot house blog http://www.polkadothouse.blogspot.com/ has a feature called EW TO NEW. I love to watch out for her new stuff. This is where she takes something old, refinishes it, and makes is SCRAPPY COOL. You should go on on over to her blog and check out her stuff. I wanted to do something like this so mine is going to be GROSS TO GREAT. And believe me, these two items were definately classified as gross when I started with them-either for their color or just plain ole nastiness. YUCK-O. But when you see what I'm doing to them (hopefully) the reaction will be GREAT!!!
So here they are...
This is a really nice wooden cabinet with glass doors. I plan to paint it white, not sure what else to do with it. It needs some really pretty colorful handles. I think that is where I'll add my splash of color.

This one is a golden brownish metal piece that was used in a bathroom. It has sliding doors on the bottom. I plan to paint it white also...do we see a pattern here? I like white, it makes things so clean and organized. BUT... I do like pink, so I may sneak some pink in with my makeovers... I share my scraproom with my husband so I have to go easy on the poor guy :)

My hubby's hobby is, how do I put it? Well, he collects, plays with, and talks on CB radios. I have this whole room and he has his desk and one small shelf. I feel kind of bad about it... I mean it didn't start out that way. I just kind of took an inch here and he'd give an inch there. So, now this room is SO full you can't fit one more thing in it!!! It is kind of funny. Seriously, there is not one place to put anything in here! I have some space on the walls for my new stuff, but I'll have to move some pictures to get them up :) Let's just say it is FULL! I can almost see the walls breathing in and out about to explode! HEEEheeee....

It is raining here FINALLY! It has been SO dry here- and HOT! I don't really mind the HOT, makes getting in the pool that much better. I do feel sorry for the people that have to work out in it though. I think it has been raining since 5:30 this morning. I was woke up by a loud clap of thunder.
I went out to water my garden last night and soaked it. That is a sure-fire way to make it rain!! I was a walking buffet for the mosquitos. I bet I have 10 bites on me - SERIOUSLY!! They EAT ME UP!! I must just be awfully sweet (I'm batting my eyelashes now ;) ) no, not really. But something about me and my youngest boy, they literally eat us up. Even when we use bug spray. I love going outside, but can't stay out too long. And these bites get huge! They swell up and of course, itch like crazy. But all in all, it was worth it! I watered my garden and it looked SO MUCH better when I was done. I'll post some before and afters of it. I'm pretty proud of that little spot! I did most of it all by myself! Sorry, I lost myself for a minute!

I have a class today. Well, not a class actually. I'm going to a friend's church and she is presenting the class. I'm just a rep. of a company that I'm not supposed to mention anywhere outside of their own websites (I think that is the rule). I do have a blinkie up at the top of my blog though. You can see which one I work for, and it's not Stampin' Up. I've been with them since Feb. I like it too! I've made a little money, got a lot of cool free stuff and had lots of fun!! I do recommend you do it too! Any questions, contact me at luvtoscrap1972@yahoo.com

Well, I think I better go gather up my stuff and get it all packed for my little trip. I'll be back this afternoon and maybe post some pictures.

Have a wonderful day and God bless....

Almost Friday!

Tomorrow is Friday, again! These days and weeks are just flying by!! I can't believe this year is half over.

I've been reading blogs today... not much going on here. Me and the boys got in the pool today for awhile. This is Soooo boring to you- who ever you are reading this. I PROMISE to be better! AND MORE SCRAPPY!! My blog title is Happily Scrappin' Today and yet I hardly post SCRAPPY things. I WILL BE A BETTER BLOGGER!! I have a class this weekend and another one on July 19th. I will be making things for those classes and will post pictures of the things we make. I am planning to go see my sis this coming Monday. Going to go to Hobby Lobby and Michael's- my FIRST EVER trip to Michael's! I'm going after paint and rubber stamps. I want to paint more and do more mixed media. I have hope that I can do it after my sis said she looked at my blog and didn't know what to expect when I told her to go look at my woman. She said she actually looks like a person., er well, like she should look. :) I like when my sis gives me good words! SHE is good at everything she does! She just doesn't show it off...and believe me she has it! She can paint some of the prettiest pictures! I know if she listed on etsy she'd do good. I just have to convince her of it!!

It is getting late and have to get up early and go grocery shopping. I'm pooped tonight for some reason and have done nothing all day... maybe that is why I'm tired. I feel better when I have a busy day!

Good night, Happy Scrappin'
LOOK FOR SOMETHING SCRAPPY TOMORROW!!

Almost Friday!

RED RUBBAH!!! .... AND NOODLING ?....

Hey Y'all!!
I found these at Stephanie's blog...Homegrown Hospitality http://homegrownhospitality.typepad.com/
(SORRY, YOU HAVE TO CUT AND PASTE THIS ADDY TO GET IT TO WORK)

THIS IS NOT THE BEST PICTURE, SORRY. I got these today. They came in one big wonderful sheet of rubber. UPPER AND LOWER CASE, NUMBERS 0-9 AND THE &, HEART, STAR, ARROW, AND A CUTSIE FLOWER. You have to cut them out and they are not mounted with anything, but some removable adhesive on the back of each letter and a wood or an acrylic block and they are FANTASTIC!! This is her own scribble font. These are fun to work with. Oh, and when I got them cut apart I applied the removable adhesive to each letter and put them in an empty CD case for storage. You can see through the case and it makes it great to see what you need and small and doesn't take up too much room in the cases on the shelf. I put all my acylic stamps in CD cases last night. You can even double them up! Put them on the left and right side of the case when you open it up- works perfectly! I tried with my HOMEGROWN stamps, but the rubber is a wee bit thicker than the acrylic.

She has these RED RUBBER stamps for sale in her etsy shop... THAT'S RIGHT, YOU TOO CAN HAVE A SET OF THESE WONDERFUL RED RUBBER STAMPS!!!!http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12723865
(GOTTA CUT AND PASTE THIS ADDY TOO)

You should go and check out her blog as well as her etsy shop, you won't be disappointed!

My little guys got in the pool today and had a ball!!
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF NOODLING?? Well, it is a sport that you go fishing WITH YOUR HANDS!! to catch catfish! I seen this on the news the other day and it is where you catch a HUGE catfish and he swallows your WHOLE ARM!!!! That kind is not for me...my kids were NOODLING today! Not the catfishing NOODLING...but this kind---LOOKS LIKE FUN!!

Hunter (the bigger one) showed Dakota how to blow in the noodle to make water shoot out of it! IT WAS SOOOO FUNNY!!! I never dreamed of being able to do that, but they had a blast...especially Dakota. He kept blowing water on his big brother and blowing it in to the water to make weird noises.
I have a video of them doing it and my try to upload my first video tomorrow.
It is getting late and my eyelids are starting to droop.... goodnight all!

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!

Good morning! It is Friday! I love the weekends, eventhough I'm off from work and rarely do anything to acknowledge it is the weekend, I still love them :)

Yes, I've been MIA. I've been so good about blogging lately, but fel off the wagon this week. I finally finished my album I was working on (have to send it off by Monday)... I decided to just do nothing for a few days. Well, not nothing exactly. I painted yesterday. I'm almost ashamed to put a pict. up of what I painted. Oh, well, I might as well post it. I like parts about it, but it is not nearly as good as I would have liked it to be. It is flat, not enough shadows on the face. I LOVE Paulette Insall's work. Here is the link to her blog, you should go check it out...
http://pauletteinsall.typepad.com/my_weblog/
You will have to cut and paste, I haven't figured out how to get the link to go in right. If anyone knows how, please leave a comment and tell me how to do it.

Here is my little lady. It is my first one ever, so please don't laugh too hard :)

I don't know how to get the nose right. I was an art major in college before switching to Family Psychology (THAT IS ANOTHER STORY... ) but anyway, I NEVER could get the noses the way I wanted when I would paint and draw. Now, I know her eyes are off, but they are bit better than the nose. I need to do an online class with Miss. Paulette, I bet she could straighten out my nose (HA HA! I JUST CRACK MYSELF UP!! HA HA :D )

Here are some close ups of the details...

Mine may not be as good as some of the others, but it was fun painting. I have a lot to learn, but I can do it. I will keep painting until I get it right!!!! I would love to list stuff like this on ebay and etsy and see them sell. It is partly for the money, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't, but just to see someone buy something I DID... that is a thrill to me. To know someone picked my "something" out of all the other "somethings" out there, well, it would just thrill my little soul!

Well, I've rambled on enough for one morning. I have to go get groceries this morning. It seems like I just went yesterday, and it was last Friday! These weeks are just flyin' by! It will be time for me to go back to work very soon! I am LOVIN' being off!!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!
