Christmas is coming...

And I just can't wait any long to start decorating! I made these from Dollar Tree ornaments, cover in old book paper, used twine and buttons to embellish. I'm happy with how they turned out. :-)

Smile Everyday!

Using PhotoForge 2, and a Rhonna Farrer frame along with Dropbox I was able to layer the two and combine into something quite nice. All from my iPad! Love Dropbox!! And PhotoForge 2 is one of the best apps I've ever used! You can scrapbook right on your phone or iPad using layers! Love it!!

Where Bloggers Create 2012

Welcome to my creative space. This is where I spend WAY too much time! I like to dabble in mixed media, scrapbooking, leather crafts, home decor projects, and what ever else might come my way that keeps me occupied.
This is where I keep my unmounted rubber stamps, paints, Tim Holtz stamp pads, Vinyl, misc. craft supplies
My main work space. A huge and HEAVY desk I got at an estate sale for $25. It holds a TON of supplies!

The photo above shows one of my favorite things... a caddy from Faber -Castell. It holds all my Pitt Pens and all my Faber -Castell things.

Love my glass glitter from Melissa Francis.

Taking the Lifebook class with Tamera LaPort. This was one of the first assignments. I painted her using my Caran De'Ache colors.

An idea I found maybe on Pinterest. An old rake head used to hold my necklaces. I think I love it. I just put it up tonight and the old rusty look is growing on me.

Where I spend WAY to much time on Pinterest....

I'm loving all things Junk Gypsy right now. Here is the LINK to their site Gypsyville. You can find their show on HGTV on Saturday nights at 6:00pm Central time. You will not be disappointed. It's funky junk at it's best!

A few of my favorite things: Antique buttons galore. A plastic cup covered in crepe paper streamers, my guardian angel standing guard over all things, Junk Gypsy box that my necklaces came in.

My best friend, the Silhouette Cameo. Santa brought if for me last Christmas and I love it!! If you're on the fence about one... don't be, buy it NOW!

Love Kelly Rae Roberts!!

Inside my messy closet. It holds a lot of things. Behind the door is a tall shelf with more things hiding out of sight. I've got my dies and Big Shot hiding behind Betty. My dress form, yes I named her...Betty. I've yet to use her but she keeps me good company :-)

She Art Girls from Christy Tomlinson's classes.

More Kelly Rae Roberts goodies!

The absolute Best Magazines in the world! Where Women Create... I wish it came out more often. Just can't get enough!

Blogging Sorority creation

Was brown wood but I painted and distressed it. Looks much more "me" now. Got it at Hobby Lobby sometime last year. It sat unused for months. Now it is stuffed! and very much loved.

Cricut Imagine and carts. I need to use this gem more than I do.  Update it and use it, yes that is the plan!

Pinterest inspired. An old frame, pink spray paint, old cork board and a burlap peanut bag. Cut the corkboard down to fit the opening of the frame (bought at a yardsale), cut the burlap and staple to the cork board, hot glue in the frame and there ya have it. I just hated to pin anything to it. It was pretty with nothing on it.

My family... that is me that my daddy is holding. Probably around 1975 or so. I was a daddy's girl! I sure do miss him.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a peek into my creative space. I hope you will leave a message for me and let me know you've stopped by. I'll be sure to come on over and visit you! Happy Scrappin'

My Daddy.....

Happy Father's Day in Heaven to my daddy. The greatest man I've ever known. I just wish I could have had awhile longer with him. We lost him when he was just 62 years old. He's been in Heaven for 12 years now ... I miss him so much but I know I will see him again.

Roses in my garden

They have doubled in size this year and are so pretty. Didn't even expect them to live because they looked so bad last year. They're not only still living but thriving! So thankful.

Decided to paint.....

I saw at picture for sale at Kohl's last time I went shopping. It was something like $169! But huge and beautiful- about 4 ft square! I thought maybe I could paint something somewhat close to it. I sat down this morning and tried. My canvas board is around 12x16 I think. I had fun and made a big ole mess but I think I love it. For my first try it made me Very happy!

Mixed media project

It's been so long since I've worked in my studio! I had inspiration for this but I can not remember where i saw it to give the proper credit. Just know I was inspired to make it... It's close to hers but I did put my own spin on the embellies. I'm proud of it. And LOVE using the charcoal pencil for outlining! (may have gone too far with it but just couldn't stop myself!)
Depression has had me hiding and making me not even want to work on anything. But today was a good day. Each day is a climb. But with God holding my hand, and carrying me when I get too tired, I can get past this. I have started to walk- got a treadmill. I try for 3-4 miles a week and have lost 20 pounds since November! Maybe things will really start changing more, inside and out!!

Practice! Practice! Practice!

I've always wanted to be able to draw people. All my life .... But never could get it right. Now, I know this one is not spot on for my friend (pict was borrowed from Facebook) but at least her nose looks like a nose, her mouth is a mouth, and the cheeks they do look like cheeks. Compared to the way I used to draw, I've come a long way. The features before, well lets say they looked like they had some plastic surgery that had gone way wrong! I'm proud of this! I'm still going to work on the shading some more and her eyes need some more work but I like it. To get any better than we are each day we just have to Do. Do whatever it is that we do so that tomorrow we might be able to DO it better.
